Tell us about your shoot with Manic Creations. How it came about, what the experience was like and your thoughts on the final product?
I shot with Manic Creations a few years ago when I had just got into doing shoots and modelling. I’ve been in contact with them since then and they approached me wanting to try their first beach shoot so I jumped at the chance to shoot with them again. We were sponsored bikinis by JJSA Swimwear and after seeing how successful the shoot came out I have been asked to be the face of JJSA Swimwear for 2015, which is really so exciting. The guys of Manic Creations photography are one of my favourite photographers and as you can see from their work it’s out of this world.
Did you have any onlookers checking you out during your shoot on the beach?
Yes we did have a few, some girl even hung around and watched the whole shoot [laughs] but I’ve learnt from previous shoots just to block it out and carry on shooting.
Being a Durban girl, what are you looking forward to now that summer time is here?
Well of course going to the beach whenever I can, tanning by my pool sipping on some cocktails. I have a lot of shoots lined up too so I’m glad the warm weather is back. Also glad to show off my hard work from slaving in the gym.
Do you plan on going away during the holiday season or will you be staying in KZN with the influx of holiday makers?
I might go visit family in Margate for Christmas but other than that I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere for a bit as I’m just recovering from coming back from our Europe holiday.
What’s the vibe like in KZN for a local over the holiday season and how do you deal with it?
Well its really busy in the North and South Coast areas, as I am originally from Margate I prefer to stay away from the craziness, all that traffic drives me nuts. The parties and events are really amazing though.
You recently went on a “every ladies dream” trip. Tell us about that and what happened?
Oh yes we took a holiday to Athens, Mykonos, Rome, Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam.
Athens was really beautiful with all the ancient ruins. We stayed in Plaka while we were there. I honestly think that’s the best place to stay in Athens, it’s very central and you can walk all over just be careful of pickpocketers, my wallet was stolen from my bag in Athens. From Athens we went to Mykonos an island off Greece I loved it there, white beaches and crystal blue waters. Mykonos is like Ibiza, we had an insane beach party at Paradise beach, met some French soccer players and had Moet Chardon Champagne showers. We then jetted off to Rome and then to Barcelona which was one of my favourites, the people there are so friendly and helpful, the food and culture is just incredible. We then made our way to Paris where we went to Disneyland and then back to Paris. On our last night in Paris we had dinner in the Eiffel tower that’s where my boyfriend of 6 and a half years finally put a ring on it [laughs]. It was like a fairy-tale, I’m one very happy girl! Our last stop was Amsterdam, which was an experience of note, from the red-light district to all the quirky smokey coffee shops, the endless canals, beautiful buildings and little house boats, it was definitely a good time. The whole trip was such an amazing experience and so so beautiful but after travelling for nearly 3 weeks I missed home, my friends, my family, my two gorgeous Chinchilla Persian kitties and my fitness lifestyle.
So now that you’re off the market, what plans do you have for your future?
Well we have spoken about it and we aren’t going to get married for about a year and a bit. We want to do the smart thing and buy property first as we are just renting a flat at the moment. When we do finally decide on a date ill need to save save save for this wedding I have planned in my head.
What do you find is the best way to spoil your man and at the same time rack up those brownie points?
Well every Sunday I bake. I love to bake and cook which is the road to a man’s heart.
What would you say is the sexiest thing you’ve ever done for your man?
Well I don’t like to kiss and tell but I do like to surprise him sometimes by cooking dinner in a pair of killer heels and my sexiest lingerie!
What’s your secret to your insanely good looks and amazing body?
I gym at least 5 times a week I like to do a lot of strength training with a bit of cardio and I am also a huge Crossfit addict. I Crossfit twice a week at Reebok Crossfit Durbs at Gateway and I also like to incorporate my Crossfit training into my gym sessions where ever I can. I love my pull-ups, I can put most guys to shame in that area, I also love my squats. I like to try keep to a low carb high protein diet but I’m not the type of girl to restrict myself too much. If I want a pasta or I need to tend to my sweet tooth, I will.
If you could drop everything right now and leave to do something you’ve always dreamed of doing. What would it be?
I’d love to be a bikini model full time. I love being behind the camera. Who knows maybe that dream could come true.
What 5 things can’t you live without and why?
-My fiancé, friends and family of course, but I can’t live without him, he’s my best friend and I love him so much, and my friends and family are everything to me.
-My two beautiful Chinchilla Persian kitty’s (yes I see them as 1 entity because they are inseparable).
-My phone, I love my selfies. What can I say [laughs]. Follow me on Instagram @missroxyamas
-My hot pink lipstick and makeup.
-Salted caramel from Woolies, it’s my ultimate cheat sweetie I love it.
5 Question Quickie:
Fake or natural?
Natural, because anyone can buy fake boobies and a fake body, so I just respect and appreciate people so much more if they are all natural.
Sensitive guy or hard guy?
Sensitive guy, I’m a hopeless romantic. I can’t stand guys that are arrogant and full of themselves and act like the world must bow down to them.
Early mornings or late nights?
Late nights, I’m not a morning person except for when I train in the morning sometimes.
In control or out of control?
In control, I’m a bit of a control freak sometimes and a bit of a perfectionist. But I do like to get a bit out of control when I party [laughs].
Usual or adventurous?
Adventurous, love trying new things love to travel being spontaneous (carpe diem).
